As of June 13, 2008, the Regulatory Energy Commision has issued 742 permits for private producers of electricity that is equivalent to 24,778 MW. Mexico has become one of the most attractive countries for the development of CDM Projects. In the first three years of the Kyoto Protocol, Mexico has generated revenues from the commercialization of carbon credits of approximately 40 to 60 millions of USD and it is expected to receive between 100 and 120 million USD for this same concept in the next three years.

This event will allow the participants to evaluate the current opportunities in the energy and carbon sectors in Mexico.  Other topics to be discussed are the development of the telecom and finance sectors in Mexico, and the current trade relationship between Mexico and the U.S.
